Quasi-Stationary Simulation: the Subcritical Contact Process

چکیده
We apply the recently devised quasi-stationary simulation method to study the lifetime and order parameter of the contact process in the subcritical phase. This phase is not accessible to other methods because virtually all realizations of the process fall into the absorbing state before the quasi-stationary regime is attained. With relatively modest simulations, the method yields an estimate of the critical exponent ν|| with a precision of 0.5%.

Quasi-stationary simulation of the contact process
We review a recently devised Monte Carlo simulation method for the direct study of quasi-stationary properties of stochastic processes with an absorbing state. The method is used to determine the static correlation function and the interparticle gap-length distribution in the critical one-dimensional contact process. We also find evidence for power-law decay of the interparticle distance distri...

We prove that certain (discrete time) probabilistic automata which can be absorbed in a \null state" have a normalized quasi-stationary distribution (when restricted to the states other than the null state). We also show that the conditional distribution of these systems, given that they are not absorbed before time n, converges to an honest probability distribution; this limit distribution is ...
متن کاملS ep 2 00 8 Scaling behavior of the disordered contact process
The one-dimensional contact process with weak to intermediate quenched disorder in its transmission rates is investigated via quasi-stationary Monte Carlo simulation. We address the contested questions of both the nature of dynamical scaling, conventional or activated, as well as of universality of critical exponents by employing a scaling analysis of the distribution of lifetimes and the quasi...
متن کاملThe connected component of the partial duplication graph
We consider the connected component of the partial duplication model for a random graph, a model which was introduced by Bhan, Galas and Dewey as a model for gene expression networks. The most rigorous results are due to Hermann and Pfaffelhuber, who show a phase transition between a subcritical case where in the limit almost all vertices are isolated and a supercritical case where the proporti...
متن کاملNon-stationary parabolic equations for the quasi-monochromatic sound propagation in media with a non-stationary background flow
The narrow and wide-angle parabolic equations for the quasi-monochromatic sound wave packets propagating in a waveguide with a non-stationary background flow are obtained. The results of numerical simulations are presented.
